What interests me most about this medicine is its openness to each individual. The wisest medicine is not the same for everyone. One person's anti-inflammatory turmeric is another person's headache. The uniqueness of traditional Chinese medicine is its ability to gauge each person's personal climate, as it were. TCM is grounded in the ecosystem of which we are all a part: the earth. We as humans may live in heated homes and eat food out of bags but our natural state is just like the earth; when all it’s elements are in balance, we are in balance. And getting back in balance can be as simple as sleeping more and eating more basic foods.

My practice is family based; I work with all phases of the family unit whether it be pediatric, reproductive, aging or menopause. I also work with body pain; shoulder impingement, low back pain, neck pain and tightness are all typical reasons for an acupuncture visit.

What to expect

I offer acupuncture, a painless insertion of tiny needles in various places in the body to restore energy flow. I will also ask questions about your lifestyle, sleep habits, diet and more to get a feel for what changes will be helpful to you to get the results you want.

I may also prescribe a traditional Chinese herbal formula based on your particular pattern of disharmony. Plant medicine is our birth right. We have evolved along with these organisms since the beginning of time and, like bacteria, they are a part of who we are and our cellular make up. Properly prescribed and well timed herbs are a cornerstone of health.

Fire cupping for sore tight muscles is also a delightful treatment option. Many people crave the feeling of their wide-open muscles and fascia after a good cupping session.
